If you spend any time at all on the Internet, you’ve likely struggled to decipher a CAPTCHA, the garbled text often found at the end of an online form.
CAPTCHA is an acronym for Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart. In other words, it’s a tool designed to prevent spam by requiring a task that cannot be completed by a computer.
